Portraits

For Head Studies of People and Pet Portraits in 9" x 12" format from photos (see specs below),

$350 for pencil or charcoal drawing of 1 figure*

$550 for watercolour portrait of 1 figure*

$950 for oil portrait of 1 figure**

When drawing a person from life, there is a $35 per day sitting fee.

Other sizes and needs can be completed upon request. Please ask, and the artist will be happy to get back to you with a quote.

A donation of 10% of all proceeds goes to a variety of charities. If you have a preferred charity you would like to contribute to, please let the artist know. The ones currently chosen are on the Links page.

Photo Submission Guidelines

Please submit one or two of your favourite photos of the person or animal to be drawn. The bigger the face and the more detailed it is, the better it will turn out. You can provide a candid shot or professional. Both turn out well.

The usual turnaround time is 1 month for pencil and charcoal and 2-3 months for oil and watercolour.

If you need a portrait in a hurry, you will incur additional rush charges (as much as 50%), since other people's portraits will have to be delayed to accomodate your order.

Payment

Cash, check or money orders are accepted. A deposit of 50% is required along with your reference photo. (You may send in your full payment with the photo if this is easier.) The remainder is due upon completion of the finished piece. Upon receiving the final payment, the portrait and photos will be sent.
